800 University Bay Drive is a multi-tenant medical office building located one block from UW Hospital. The 74,600 square foot project is three stories with a partial fourth floor set back on the north side, and includes 186 parking stalls on three levels of below-grade parking.
LEED Platinum Certified, the orientation and design maximizes the use of natural day lighting. The building adds four times the amount of square footage than originally existed on the site, while at the same time the site went from 3% green space to 52% green space because of a green roof over the below grade parking.
In addition to the extensive use of recycled materials, the building uses recycled grey water for flushing toilets and watering the surrounding landscaping. In the spirit of being eco-friendly, occupants are encouraged to ride their bike to work where there are shower and locker room facilities and ample secure bike storage.
