The Douglas County Government Center is a joint city-county complex housing county court facilities, offices and law enforcement centers for the City of Superior and Douglas County. Its jail has 170 beds, with double-bunking capacity of 219 beds. It also contains secure court facilities; an underground emergency government/communications center; and an atrium linking the new complex to the adjacent county courthouse.
Between the two buildings is a four-story atrium that provides circulation for the two buildings as well as the adjacent courthouse.
Potter Lawson served as justice design consultant and provided mechanical and electrical engineering for this project.
