Role Description
Potter Lawson is looking to grow our award winning interior design team. This position will support design teams by collaborating on design, researching products, preparing presentations and visualization content, assisting with material and furniture selections and specifications, and producing construction documents.
This is a full-time, in-studio opportunity for an Interior Designer located in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day project advancement work as well as the opportunity to engage with clients as well as collaborate with architects and other design professionals to deliver high-quality projects.
Qualifications
- Strong creative and design communication skills
- Knowledge of Architecture and its application in interior design
- Proficiency in selecting and specifying furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Minimum two years of experience in the commercial design field
- Minimum associate degree in Interior Design or related field
- Experience with sustainable design practices is a plus
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit and SketchUp required
Responsibilities Include:
– Working as part of a team, collaborating on conceptual design
– Problem-solving; both independently and part of a larger design team.
– Support presentation preparation utilizing Sketch-up, Enscape, Revit, CAD, Photoshop and PowerPoint.
– Assist in selection, research and specification of Interior finishes, furnishings, fixtures & equipment (FFE)
– Produce technical plans and documentation, including finish plans and legends, furniture plans and specifications, interior elevations and casework, and ceiling plans utilizing Revit, AutoCAD and Excel.
– Coordinate organization of project materials and specification information for project manual
– Support projects in construction with review of submittals and requests for information (RFI).
– Establish relationships with vendors, consultants and clients as appropriate.
– Maintain interior finish library.
Experience Preferred:
– 2-8 years in commercial interior design field
Education Minimum:
– Minimum Associates Degree in Interior Design
