Faced with overcrowding in their jail, and safety and security concerns throughout their existing facility, Calumet County hired Potter Lawson to find a solution to take the County into the future.

Currently in design, the project consists of approximately 84,000 square feet of addition and 25,900 sf renovation. The addition will add a new jail pod to house 89 inmates (128 double bunked) with new program space to meet DOC standards. The addition also includes Sheriff’s Department, parking garage, Dispatch Center, EOC, Medical Examiner’s Office, and Health and Human Services entry.

The project also includes a security station in the Courthouse lobby as well as a new receiving area for the Courthouse.
