In anticipation of receiving their FDA approvals in 2014, Potter Lawson led the design and lab planning for the first phase of their clinical processing lab to accommodate the predicted ramp up in production. The project included 24,000 sf of lab and production space, and 5,000 sf for administrative offices. Lab spaces include pre-processing, capture areas, and other support areas.
After receiving their FDA approval Potter Lawson began the design and lab planning on phase two of their clinical processing center which gives them an additional 23,000 sf of space to meet their explosive growth. This second phase increases their previous capacity of 1,000,000 samples to 3,000,000 samples. This project was completed while maintaining operations with minimized disruption and included technical lab expansions, sample processing, capture lab, automation lab, hemoglobin lab, and Quartz (PRC) lab.
The project also included a pilot lab, loading dock expansion, automation to the sample processing lab, redundant mechanical (HVAC & cooler/freezer) and electrical (standby generator) systems, and office and cafeteria renovations.
